Germany: np. Kuhnert, Wilhelm. No Binding. Wilhelm Kuhnert, who painted during the late 1800s and early 1900s, is considered one of the greatest animal painters ever. He produced a number of etchings, virtually all of which are highly sought after to this date. A scarce subject for Kuhnert - the African rhinoceros, wandering through the African plain. Ltd edition #39 of 100 signed and with artists small stamp in lower left of image. Ref. plate 80 page 126 in The Animal Art of Wilhelm Kuhnert. Image size 10 5/8 x 19 3/8. Plate size 11 1/2 x 19 3/4 Double matted. 18 14 x 25 3/4. Nicely framed in sculpted wood. 20 1/2 x 28. Uncommon rhino etching. We saw this etching in 1992 when we visited with Bob Kuhn before he worked with Tony Dyer on THE BIG FIVE reprint dont by Trophy Room Books. After Bob's passing, a dealer bought the etching and it was purchased from that dealer. Excellent art provenance. Substantial additional postage required (especially for outside the US). Fine.
