London: Ackermann, 1841. First Edition. Hardcover. illustrative of the wild life of a hunter on the frontier of the Cape Colony. Folio sized. 16 pp + 15 plates, hand colored and b/w lithographs. Hunting adventures in the Cape Colony. Plates depict various related sporting scenes: buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, eland, leopard etc. Outside is VG or slightly better in orig. green gilt patterned and blind stamped cloth. Spine shows wear and there are tears at the hinges. Need some loving care and perhaps a new leather spine. Internally fine. So overall vg to vg+. VG to vg+. Item #4542
