Gordon broke new ground through the Tian Shan and Pamir highlands. He was one of the first Europeans to hunt Marco Polo sheep and Asian ibex (good trophies, too) in Asia, preceding other famous sheep hunters like Demidoff, Littledale, Swayne, Cumberland etc., by 30-40 years. They did their own guiding back then so it was true mountain hunting at its best. Dark green gilt cloth, ibex and ovis poli heads on spine with gilt horns extending onto front and rear panels. A rare work. A vg+ copy showing some wear on corners and spine tips but no chipping or loss of cloth.
