Cobbold was the first sport hunter to actively explore the Pamirs and took the first photo of a live ovis poli sheep. This is an important work for the sheep hunter. Scarce in first edition. The spine is very lightly faded and shows only minor wear. Solid vg+ to near fine copy in orig gilt pictorial cloth with Marco Polo sheep head on cover. The front and back covers and very lightly faded spine are near fine and the gilt sheep head on front cover is sharp and crisp. Corners are square. Now hard to obtain in first edition. Great reading.
