The compiler garnered information from a great number of sources, both published and unpublished and put them together in this attractive and readable format. All of the illustrations are full page and are printed on heavy stock so the detail is enhanced. Bound in half leather with, raised spine bands, all edges gilt. The cover depicts Livingstone holding bible with kneeling native. Overall in Vg+ condition with almost imperceptible blind stamp on title page. Vol 1 covers Livingstone's life and Vol 2 mainly Stanley, Cameron and Monteiro as their work pertained to Livingstone. VG+. Item #7475
